A 26 year old male has been jailed for sexually assaulting, as well as ‘commonly assaulting’, a woman near Queen and High Street.

The man in question—Shane Hobbs—was sentenced to 16 months at Exeter Crown Court by Justice Philip Wassall after the assault in February.

Hobbs approached the unidentified girl, “got right in her face” and his “hand went down her back.” He then “touched her bottom and reached inwards and put [his] hand into the area of her private parts.”

Later he approached another group of girls and “got one around the neck and tried to drag her to the ground.”

Hobbs stated that he got into an argument with his girlfriend prior to the assaults, and had been drinking.
