Exeter has squeaky clean ‘no cheating in exams’ record

Exeter University has not made the list of the Country’s top 20 Universities for instances of exam cheating.

Exeter University has not made the list of the Country’s top 20 Universities for instances of exam cheating.

Nearly 1,700 students at 20 leading universities were disciplined last year and around 100 of these cases lead to permanent expulsion.

Lancaster came in top with 194 instances of cheating followed by East Anglia with 187 and Bath with 182.

Freedom of Information requests reveal a huge increase in the number of students caught plagarising or taking notes into exams.

Offences are varied, ranging from bringing phones and notes into exams to impersonating other students and buying essays on the internet.

Over the last 3 years at total of 5,111 students have been busted and numbers are rising year on year.
