Disturbance Launch Party

Bristol events company takes over self-professed ‘biggest night in Exeter’.

Disturbance Arena

Last Sunday saw the launch of Disturbance at Arena, a welcome addition to the Exeter clubbing scene. Part of ‘Rapture Events’, apparently the ‘hottest club brand’ in Bristol, Disturbance’s debut was bound to be a big one and boy did the line up look good! Full club transformation including Ice and Oxygen Bar, Video Booth, Invasion Giveaways and Confetti Bombs to set it all off.

However, when I entered queue-less Arena (at least THAT’S a first!), it didn’t strike me that a great deal of ‘transforming’ had gone on down. To be fair, there were some huge, inflatable Disturbance signs framing the dance floor and more balloons than a 5-year-olds birthday party but nothing too amazing. Nevertheless, it was reasonably full (all the Early Bird and Standard tickets sold out in days!) and the DJ pulled out some awesome mixes meaning the dance floor was still a bit of an elbowing fest. The music definitely hit the spot for all Electro/House/Dubstep/Drum and Bass/Charts fans. Standard Arena drinks deals, though apparently the first 100 ticket holders got free champagne! Not too shabby! Plus there was a photographer and videographer on hand to ensure our best (and worst) moments of the night weren’t forgotten. This reporter is worried as to what will happen to the video footage of her ‘pulling some shapes’ for the camera…oh dear.

All in all it was a good night – maybe it would’ve been more popular had it not been on a monsoon of a Sunday and perhaps a bit better advertised. The next Disturbance event is rumoured to be in mid-February, so watch this space!
