Students in Scotland can get £1,500 if they’re stuck at home and still paying rent

Students at university in Scotland can get up to £1,500 from the Scottish government if they’re living away from their term-time accommodation and still paying rent.

The money is specifically for students who have been unable to secure rent rebates or are suffering from financial hardships.

The fund is open from the 1st to the 26th March, and universities are in charge of distributing money.

Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis.

Priority will be given to students who are currently at their home address and still paying rent for private university accommodation.

The money from the fund is specifically for students who have undergone significant financial hardship.

Students applying will have to prove eligibility using bank statements and lease agreements.

Students will have to get in contact with their individual universities to request the money.
