Edi is the best uni in the UK for Linguistics according to new rankings
Step aside Oxford and Cambridge
Laura MorrisonThe University of Edinburgh has been ranked Number 1 in the UK for Linguistics according to QS World Rankings.
Edinburgh was ranked the 20th best university in the world in the 2020 QS World Rankings, and to be honest, is it any wonder? Scoring highest in Arts and Humanities, it was ranked third in the world for Linguistics, ninth for English Lit and Lang, and twelfth for Modern Languages. Très bon, I say.
I’d rank it Number 1 any day
In terms of the UK rankings, our precious Edinburgh hasn’t done too badly either. Alongside topping the table for Linguistics, it was also ranked third best uni in the UK for Arts and Humanities, just beaten by our southern rivals, Oxford and Cambridge. It was ranked third in UK for English Lit and Lang, and for Modern Languages, and came in at fifth in the UK for History, and sixth for Law.
Never fear though STEM students! Edinburgh ranked fifth for both Medicine and Computer Science.
