We created a playlist of music people in George Square listen to

It’s actually pretty diverse and edgy

Have you ever wondered what the average Edinburgh student listens to when they’re walking around George Square?

We created a playlist comprised of songs people were listening to when they were walking around campus. Here is a playlist to deny anyone who thinks it’s all cheese and no pickle. It’s not shite, instead sounds edgy which isn’t a surprise that it came from the square of squares, George Square. We asked people what they listen to and created a playlist based on them. Check it out.

Taylor, ‘Walk on By Sound Remedy Remix’ by Noosa

If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be? Beyonce and her twins.

Bea and Lois, ‘No Option’ by Post Malone

Their guilty pleasure?  ‘Sexy back, Justin Timberlake’. Seems appropriate.

Kiran, ‘Only God Forgives’ by Young Fathers

His go to genre? Punk/Blues. He studies in Glasgow which probably accounts for his good taste.

Alec, ‘Too dry to cry’ by Willis Earl Beal

Harvey, any ‘liquid drum and bass’

Liquid drum and bass – ‘it puts him in the mood’. For what, he never said but I doubt it’s Philosophy.

Arran, he likes Frank Ocean a lot.

But, really is Ocean a surprise with all the orange (he was also wearing orange trainers)?

Chloe, ‘Next Lifetime by Erykah Badu’

The Sartre Segment

Simon, ‘Ride Around Shining’ by Clipse

Nile, ‘Don’t let it bring you down’ by Neil Young

Florence, she’s actually just listening to a podcast

At least some of us are here to get a degree.

The playlist is available now on Spotify as ‘Sounds in the Square’ by Lara McLean.
