Nominations now open: do you have Edinburgh’s messiest flatmate?

In every flat there is always a messy one. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. They may seem demure and sweet and like they have their life together; but when you get into their room it is an explosion of textbooks, random mismatching socks and empty Domino’s boxes.

Messy people, it is your time to shine

Here’s what’s going on. Helping Hand is a cleaning service in Edinburgh that was set up by the student group Enactus Edinburgh. They provide a cleaning service for all. This ranges from a ‘superior house/flat clean’ for £15 and hour or for those of us out there that really struggle after a night out there is a ‘hangover helper’ for £12 an hour where they clean up the mess from the night before.

Their aim is to create a strong, supportive platform to lift those who have often been ostracised from society, safely back into a sustainable long-term job; through skills-based training, work experience, and encouragement.

Competition time

If you think that you have the messiest flatmate or even you yourself are the messiest flatmate then nominate yourself by taking a photo of their room with a short blurb and send it in. It’s that simple.

The winners get their flat professionally cleaned for free.
