Singles of the week: February’s finest Edinburgh singles

Love is all you need

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, but I’m here to tell you to have no fear. If you’re still single, don’t forget that there are people out there who are indeed ready to mingle and here are a few campus gems that would love to be YOUR date this Valentine’s Day.

Cara Malone, 2nd Year, Psychology

What’s your middle name? Elizabeth Marie Juliana.

What three words would your friends use to describe you? Loud, wild and a bit of a bitch.

Where’s the perfect date location in Edinburgh? My bed…

If you could be any fruit, which one would you be? Obviously an orange

What is in your bio on Tinder? I don’t have Tinder because I don’t have any storage on my iPhone 4, but feel free to DM me on Facebook.

Favourite song? Sexual by NEIKED, of course.

Favourite club? Why Not.

Whose your celebrity crush? I’ll take anyone.

What’s your go-to drink on a night out? Straight voddy babes.

One fun fact about yourself? I pulled the boy sat next to me on a plane and I only met him at the start of the flight.

If you had one wish what would it be? To be permanently tanned but I mean with like no streaks or patches.

Quite clearly Cara is a bundle of fun and certainly quite the catch, and what could be better on the 14th February that going on a romantic date to Why Not Nightclub? If you DM her on Facebook she might even be able to get you on the guest list.

Ben Seabrook, 2nd Year, Linguistics and English Language

What’s your middle name? Samuel.

What three words would your friends use to describe you? Witty, intelligent and dependable.

Where’s the perfect date location in Edinburgh? The zoo.

If you could be any fruit, which one would you be? An orange – tough on the outside but soft on the inside…

What is in your bio on Tinder? My height (6’2)

Favourite song? Anything by The Chainsmokers, but we all know Mr Brightside is a classic…

Favourite club? Probably Bourbon at the moment.

Whose your celebrity crush? Olivia Wilde

What’s your go-to drink on a night out? Any Francis Ford Coppola wine, my parents sell it so a girlfriend would get an endless supply.

One fun fact about yourself? I’ve been on TV and arm-wrestled and England rugby player.

If you had one wish what would it be? I am a linguist, but would love to speak to animals so I could know what my pets think of me.

Ben sure sounds like the perfect boyfriend to me. You could depend on him to use his intelligence to help you when you’re struggling with uni work, and if he couldn’t help you academically then at least you know that he would always be on hand with a bottle of wine to give to you so that you can forget about work and drown your sorrows.

Lara McLean, 1st Year, Philosophy

What’s your middle name? Katherine.

What three words would your friends use to describe you? Single (and) ready (to) mingle.

Where’s the perfect date location in Edinburgh? A BBQ on Arthur’s Seat would be cool.

If you could be any fruit, which one would you be? Pineapple (juice).

What is in your bio on Tinder? I don’t have Tinder.

Favourite song? Sunny Afternoon – The Kinks.

Favourite club? The Chicken Club.

Whose your celebrity crush? Jamie Oliver.

What’s your go-to drink on a night out? G & T.

One fun fact about yourself? Before coming to Edinburgh I used to be a professional ice skater.

If you had one wish what would it be? I wish I was a little bit taller, and I wish I was a baller.

There is no denying that Lara has got style – her love for gin, The Kinks and fresh pineapple juice make her the trendiest single out there. Not to mention the fact that she’d be up for a BBQ on Arthur’s Seat, I mean its so windy up there you’d be lucky to get it going but if that fails then there’s always The Chicken Club. Just don’t go ice skating with her at Christmas because you’ll be made a fool of.

Callum Abbott, 1st Year, Design

What’s your middle name? Buchanan.

What three words would your friends use to describe you? Lit, lit, lit.

Where’s the perfect date location in Edinburgh? Paradise Palms.

If you could be any fruit, which one would you be? Passionfruit.

What is in your bio on Tinder? www.creedthoughts.gov.www\creedthoughts

Favourite song? Better Off Alone – Alice Deejay

Favourite club? Rhythm Machine at Summerhall circa 2016

Who’s your celebrity crush? Andy Samberg

What’s your go-to drink on a night out? Strongbow Dark Fruits.

If you had one wish what would it be? To see Avicii live.

What. A. Stud. Quite clearly, Callum with his luscious locks and that sensual stare is the hippest of the hip and the littest of the lit. Despite the title of his favourite song, he is definitely in the game and ‘ready for your love’. Keep in mind that he’d make you some killer gifts with all of his design expertise so it him up. You will NOT regret it.

Don’t be sad if you’re not coupled up this Valentine’s Day – these are a mere four of Edinburgh’s finest singles and it doesn’t stop there. Get out there and find your very own Cara, Ben, Lara or Callum.
