The trailer for Trainspotting 2 is out: it’s so Edinburgh

They really like Arthur’s Seat

The trailer for the long-awaited  ‘T2: Trainspotting’ dropped today and it’s filled to the brim with Edinburgh.

The sequel to Danny Boyle’s legendary ‘Trainspotting’ has been filming all over Edinburgh in the past year – including at some more surprising locations.

The 1996 original notoriously did most of its filming in Glasgow. This time round it looks like we’ll be getting a lot more genuine Edinburgh.

Princes Street (and the Tram)

What better way to show how much Edinburgh has changed in 20 years than the Tram.

Cowgate

Spud’s just on his way to Bongos.

Grass Market

When you realise Oink closes at 6pm.

Royal Mile

Ewan’s desperate to make it for last orders at Tron.

Arthur’s Seat

The same view as that from Appleton Tower. Looks like one of the classrooms as well.

Tennents

Not a location but Tennents.

The view from Arthur’s Seat

Ewan trying to avoid that freshers’ curse.

Cav?

Not definite but considering they filmed a club scene there this could be it…

The Crags (and Arthur’s Seat)

God they’re really milking it aren’t they
