Agrics went on a ‘working class’ social in Edinburgh

The theme was ‘neds and nerds’

Students in Edinburgh went on a “neds and nerds” themed pub crawl last night.

Many dressed up as “neds” – Scottish slang for “non-educated” people – wearing tracksuits, with large hooped earrings, fake chains, and caps.

Students from Scotland’s Rural College’s Edinburgh campus went on a pub crawl in Newington, hitting up spots like the Victoria Bar, the Doghouse, and Doctors along the way.

However, some who went on the social defended their actions, saying it was harmless fun.

Twitter kicked off about the social, with some seeing it as an example of Edinburgh’s privilege compared to other parts off Scotland.

Pictures have been uploaded to facebook and the students on the social contacted for comment.
