We tried dating in university buildings
DHT probably won’t get you any action
Dating can get really expensive in Edinburgh.
Honestly, who has the money to take their date out to Nando’s every single week?
So we tried out dating on campus, because you really can’t get cheaper than that.
David Hume Tower
The best thing about being in DHT is not having to see DHT.
The views are fantastic, but the eerie post apocalyptic vibe of the 13th floor may not ignite conversation.
Amenities include receptionist, gas central heating and automatic doors.
Chrystal Macmillan Building
This building made it difficult to find the perfect spot, but we had a stroke of luck on the second floor.
Before us were left over pastries, juice and coffee from some sort of conference.
We pretty much dined like royalty. Had the university provided oysters you could have though it was trying to get us laid.
We at recommend Chrystal Macmillan for a visit after lunch time, for the possibility of your own free banquet.
Appleton Tower
Another 60’s shocker with equally great views.
The only downside is that you can see DHT.
We recommend an evening date for this one to avoid this issue.
King’s Buildings
We didn’t forget you.
We waited, and waited, but buses aren’t glamorous, so if you’re looking to impress give KB a miss.
Teviot
A typical student favourite, but why fork out when you can eat in a private room for free?
Make it look like you’ve spent some dough and dine in Teviot’s debating hall.
And if the date is an absolute failure, world famous nachos are only seconds away.
Talbot Rice Gallery
We were rejected from the infamously gorgeous Playfair Library Hall.
So we got lost in the Old College and found out the University has an art gallery.
Tunes were aplenty, and coupled with some groovy lighting, we’d choose Talbot over P-row any day.
Talbot Rice Gallery, you are Tab approved for a Uni building date.
