We asked who you don’t want to win the Six Nations
‘It’s convention to hate England’
We walked around campus to try and find out which European rugby nation you dislike the most.
We just wanted to be sure England is still the most hated team.
Khima, Scottish, first year, Law
“England, they’re so much better than us in every sport!”
“And they’ll probably win..the buggers.”
Carley, Scottish, first year, History
“It’s between England and France, because they always beat Scotland at Murrayfield. But it’s probably France.”
Dan, English, second year, Geography and Economics
“Wales by a mile.
“My flatmate pretends to be Welsh and he gives a lot of chat which becomes pretty unbearable.”
Irene, American, third year, History
“France.
“Just because they’re France really. Who actually wants them to win?”
Cammy, Scottish, first year, Maths
“England.
“Well it’s tradition to hate England isn’t it?”
Stephanie, Scottish, first year, English
“France. They always sing in French on Eurovision.
“How inconsiderate.”
Matthew, English, third year, History
“Wales, for all the grey rainy holidays I had to endure in my youth.”
Rachel, Scottish, first year, Philosophy and French
“It’s got to be Wales. I have too many English friends to say England.”
“I just don’t like Wales that much.”
Ryan, Irish, second year, Economics
“Definitely England.
“Well, it’s convention to hate them.”
Emma, English, first year, Philosophy & Politics
“Italy, because they always beat us at football, so it’s only fair that we get to beat them in rugby.”
Not as many people hate England as we thought.
