They’re at it again: lecturers call second day of strikes

It’s another day off for students as staff walk out over pay.

Feckless lecturers are booking in a day of Christmas shopping for December 3 as they call a second day of strike action.

Having already gone on strike over pay once this term (not just blocking us from lectures, but using the library bathrooms too!) uni staff are set to walk out next month if the current “pay row is not resolved”.

Last month’s strike fell on Halloween, so after the frightening strike comes the festive one as profs look forward to Crimbo. Or maybe it’s just an excuse to stay out of the shitty Scottish winter weather.

Since in Edinburgh it’s exam period, does that mean they’re cancelled?! Woohoo!

Lecturers’ trade union, the University and College Union (UCU), has called the strike, and will be joined by union heavyweights Unison, Unite, and EIS, Scotland’s largest teaching union.

Wonder if they’ll wear Santa hats to rally this time…
