Scotland Third Best Place to Visit

Scotland is voted third best place to visit…in the world.

The Lonely Planet travel guide has placed Scotland as the third best place to visit in the world.

Brazil came in at first, Antartica in second and bonny wee Scotland was voted in at  third. Who’d have thought? Apparently Scotland has a “jam-packed scedule of world-class events” in 2014 which include the  Commonwealth Games which will take place in Glasgow and the Ryder Cup in Gleneagles.

Only in Scotland.

Other attractions gaining its bronze position are the Highland Games, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hogmany (our fav), and Lonely Planet also encourages visitors to “take the high road to Loch Lomand, Loch Ness and Cairngorns National Park and fall in love with the landscape that inspired poet Robert Burns.”

That’s well nice innit.

Scotland  is “the place to be”. Thanks Lonely Planet, that’s why we’re here. Deep fried Mars Bar anyone?
