Londoners Take Over Northerners in Uni Applications

Londoners 43% more likely to get to Uni than those in the North-East.

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCfE) have revealed that young people from the big(ish) city are also 43% more likely to continue to Uni than those up in the North-East.

According to the study, Londoners are 36% more likely to go to University than they were in the 1990s, which is 10% higher than the rest of the country.

Probably no need for that.

Reported in the Guardian yesterday, Professor Michael Gunn said: “This is the result of governments being willing to fund an expansion in university places and widening participation initiatives and modern universities rising to the challenge.”
