Edinburgh finally tops a poll!

Edinburgh best for culture and entertainment.

Edinburgh has been ranked the top city for culture and entertainment in a survey by Legal and General.

This is a huge achievement for the relatively small capital, with London coming in at 17th place, and Glasgow at only 9th.

A lot of people in Edinburgh might once have believed that Glasgow was the place to go for gigs, but this poll proves otherwise. With venues such as The Queen’s Hall, The Liquid Rooms, Sneaky Pete’s and The Caves, it’s no wonder Edinburgh came out on top.

The survey asked 2117 young adults across twenty different cities and, although it wasn’t aimed at students explicitly, it  questioned 18-30 year olds living in the city.

The survey shows some promise for some Edinburgh students as it ranked top for Job Opportunities.

Cardiff came top of the survey and took the crown for the best city to be young in and Edinburgh followed them in fifth.
