DUCFS is back, back again

Not heard of it? You’re probably a fresher

It’s a new year, a new Michaelmas and we now get ready for “the event of the year” as announced at the National Student Fundraising awards, 2017. Here we are with the Durham University Fashion Show of 2018 coming our way, and believe it or not the first event is just around the corner.

Hosting their pre-show launch on the 14th of October in an environment known to make everyone get a little bit groovy; Loft. Be there or be square.

Durham University Fashion Show 2018 and Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, will be working together to change and deconstruct the misconceptions surrounding mental health among university students.

Every single year one in four of us will experience a mental health problem but hundreds of thousands of people still don't get the help they need.

This year DUCFS 2018 have an aim to raise a grand total of £85,000 for Mind.

Iona Cameron, President of Durham University Charity Fashion Show 2018, said:

“As the largest student-led charitable event in the UK, DUCFS is in a unique position to raise awareness for the issues that resonate with students at Durham University. This year we are thrilled to be working with Mind; the UK's leading mental health charity. Our aim is to stimulate conversation and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health. We have some exciting things planned for 2018, so stay tuned!”

So I’ll be seeing you on the 14th then? Make sure you save a dance for us and watch out for the announcement of the theme of the night.
