Durham Street Style: Autumn Edition

The Bailey is your catwalk

With winter fast approaching, the style stakes are high in Durham. Here’s our pick of the best dressed this week:

Kate, first year, Hild Bede, Biomedical sciences

Kate’s pairing of a metallic puffer jacket, tangerine jumper and dark-wash denim jeans is the perfect quirky combination to brighten up a grey day in Durham. Purchased largely from Ebay and charity shops, her outfit is both affordable and one-of-a-kind.

Scarlett, first year, Collingwood, Theology

Comprised of denim dungarees, maroon brogues and a velvet patchwork blazer, Scarlett’s outfit is quintessential 70s chic.

Hayley and Chloe, first year, Hatfield, History

Hayley (who has already featured in The Tab this week in Durham freshers’ clubbers of the week #BNOC) wears a statement faux fur collar that is bang on trend for the winter season, with black skinnies and a tasselled bag, while Chloe’s minimalistic look – a staple grey jumper paired with a navy chequered skirt and patent brogues – is effortlessly chic and casual.

Joe Blount Evans, first year, Van Mildert, Liberal Arts

With his impeccable coordination of a Family Guy sweatshirt and grey and red chequered Vans, Joe’s outfit is the perfect combination of humour and casual grunge.

Jules-Adrien, third year, Collingwood, Engineering

Jules-Adrien truly dispels any prejudice against double denim with this outfit – his denim jacket with sheepskin collar and lining is perfectly complemented by a beige striped sweatshirt and brown military boots.

Eva, second year, St Aidan’s, Law

With her leopard-print coat, grey top and white Adidas trainers, Eva’s outfit oozes cool. Her small silver hoops and Hamsa hand necklace are the ultimate accessories to finish off the look.

Lachie, first year, Van Mildert, Geology

First year Lachie was spotted sporting this unique ensemble in the reeds of Van Mildert. His flower garland and pink-rimmed polka-dot socks form a striking and complementary contrast with his black Crocs and monochrome, floral-print jacket. Bold and brave.
