FINALLY: Deliveroo has arrived in Durham

It’d be Deliver-rude not to

It’s official Deliveroo, the restaurant takeaway service, has started delivering in Durham today.

When premium service goes live at 1pm today, we will be munching on tangy burgers, waffley good waffles, and tempting cupcakes  all the way from Hild Bede to JoBo.Among the first restaurants signed up are Tango,  The Pancake House, Rajpooth, Be Tempted and Waffley Good Company.

General manager Caroline Hazlehurst told The Tab:

“Durham has a thriving local restaurant culture, yet busy consumers are missing the opportunity to have good food delivered from the best restaurants to their homes and offices.

“With the launch of Deliveroo, customers will be able to enjoy quality food delivered quickly and consistently, whether it’s burritos, burgers or waffles.”

The luxury service has already opened up in Newcastle and York, and reckons it can deliver your college meal substitute in an average of 32 minutes.

The news is going down well with Kirstin Stevely, a fresher from JoBo who told The Tab:

“Finally a way I’m able to get food at Butler, I haven’t eaten a decent meal in a term and a half.”

It has not yet been confirmed whether Aidans is actually in delivering zone.
