Meet the models of the charity fashion show

DUCFS is back, and this year the highlight of Durham’s social calendar is going to be bigger and better than ever as it’s being held in the incredible location of Palace Green.

Taking place on 5th and 6th February, there will be fashion, frolicking and freebies galore, but we all know the main attraction is the selection of insanely attractive models that will be strutting their stuff down that catwalk.

The Tab spoke to some of the beautiful people to find out about the personalities behind the perfect exteriors.

Karn Chatikavanji

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

I thought I might as well put the Asian Persuasion to use.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

I’m a fresher so I have no idea what the fashion show is like.

What are you most excited for this year?

Star Wars.

Or do you mean about the fashion show? Probably the music then.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

I’m not sure what that is. I’ll probably pre.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Fifty Shades of Grey. Or Tesco.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Tesco.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Shakespeare, so I can tell him about my collection of cacti named after his characters.

Abbie Moujaes 

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

It’s the best night.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

Drinking backstage with everyone and then trying to put on heels.

What are you most excited for this year?

My mum coming to watch.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

Spinning.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Daytime TV.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Crook Hall.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Colin Firth as Mr Darcy.

Hannah Naomi Fisayo

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

I wanted to get a head start on my modelling career, just in case I failed my degree.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

When Hendrik took his shirt off.

What are you most excited for this year?

When Hendrik takes his shirt off.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

Sun bed.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Flirting with the college porters.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Fabio’s.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Gordon Ramsay so he can cook and 2chainz for the classy entertainment.

Mariam Jat

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

I did it at school so I thought it would be fun to experience it at uni as well.

Also the fact it’s for charity made me want to get involved.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

I’m a fresher so unfortunately I missed it.

What are you most excited for this year?

Being in the show.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

Practicing walking in heels.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Watching silly YouTube videos instead of doing my formative assessments.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

My room.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Definitely Mick Jagger, I feel he’d have some crazy stories to tell.

Ellie Butler

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

I couldn’t make it to the Victoria Secret Show this year, this was the next best thing.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

When I got with Hal Stephenson.

What are you most excited for this year?

Brand.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

Meridian peanut butter.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Monk boys.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Urban Oven.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Beyonce – I reckon we’ve got loads in common.

Harry Roxburgh

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

I didn’t intend to, I just accidentally walked into the audition room.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

Butler’s nipple piercing getting caught on her underwear.

What are you most excited for this year?

Hendrik in his underwear.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

Oiling up Hendrik, in his underwear.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Hendrik in his underwear.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Hendrik’s underwear.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Mary Berry, she’d cook a cracking Victoria Sponge.

Hendrik Speelmans

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

I can see my abs through my shirt.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

Roxburgh looking like an overgrown man-child on his first day of school.

What are you most excited for this year?

Seeing Roxburgh in his underwear.

I have a predilection for his pegs and applying baby oil.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

Bringing some cheese to grate on Roxburgh’s jaw.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Roxburgh’s jawline.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Anywhere I can grate cheese on Roxburgh’s jaw.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

Alana Blanchard. She’s an absolute dreamboat.

Justin Vallis

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

For Brand.

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

I didn’t go.

What are you most excited for this year?

Definitely Palatinalps.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

One of my housemates told me to get a face transplant, so I’ll look into that.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Sitting down in the shower after a long day.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

Fabio’s.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be? 

David Mitchell, he’s funny.

Simeon Greaves

Why did you audition for the fashion show?

Final year, why not?

What was your fave moment from last year’s show?

Got to be the girls’ swimwear walk.

What are you most excited for this year?

The profile picture.

What will be your fashion show preparation regime?

I’ve heard dad bods are in fashion.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?

Got Bieber’s new album on repeat.

Where’s your favourite spot in Durham to hang out?

I’ve probably spent more hours in Tango than I have in a lecture hall.
