Castle fresher offers reward for precious lost toy parrot

The owner is spitting feathers

A Castle fresher decided to bring her beloved childhood toy up to Durham, only to lose her on the first day of term.

After surviving several holidays abroad, Nibbler the parrot went missing on the way to a lecture.

India Bruckner told The Tab: “I got my parrot at Edinburgh Zoo when I was little and named it Nibbler after one of the rainbow lorikeets who decided to chomp on my Dad’s watch strap.”

Nibbler is approximately 20 centimetres tall, with a red beak, green wings, and a red and blue chest. She usually lives in University College, however is currently missing and his owner would like her returned. She is also a toy.

She was last seen on Monday morning heading to lectures

Distraught India told The Tab how she lost beloved Nibbler on the way to a lecture.

She said: “I’ve taken Nibbler with me every time I’ve gone on holiday or had a major event planned.

“Up until this point, Nibbler had been enjoying freshers’ week with me but was sadly dropped on the way to a Monday morning lecture.”

Nibbler arrives for freshers’ week

India has appealed on the Castle freshers’ group. There have been possible sightings of the bird near the Cathedral and apparently living on a windowsill on Saddler street.

If anyone is able to return the toy to this distressed fresher, there will be a reward of a drink in the Undie (or her eternal gratitude, your choice). It’s too soon for Nibbler to fly the nest just yet.

India added: “I am completely serious. I don’t care how silly it sounds. This parrot goes everywhere with me. Literally, I’ve taken her to seven different countries. And I really want her back.”
