Add these essentials to your Durham packing list

You really do need Klute shoes

Its that time of the year again. Freshers week is back. So here’s some stuff you’ll want to have handy for the wonders you will encounter during your first week.

Klute Shoes

Number one on the list and the most important by far. Yes, Klute is the self-proclaimed ‘worst nightclub in Europe’ for a reason. So grab yourself a pair of £2 primarni beauties and head over to your worst night of freshers.

You don’t want to be donning those squeaky clean new balance trainers in this fine establishment unless you want them to have a little swim in a toxic mixture of quaddie, sweat and other bodily fluids. Don’t do it. It’ll only end in tears.

Fancy dress

From college to college, whether it’s an underwear only night at Loveshack to a gap yah themed netball social, its a kind of ‘go hard to go home’ sentiment when it comes to dress up.

So come prepped with some wavey garms to impress your fellow freshmen. Heads up rugby lads, Wednesdays are strictly cross-dressing occasions.

Formal attire

Durham does a lot of formals. It doesn’t have to be the end of the year for someone to get their cumberband out.

So you’re going to need a lot of dresses or suits. Make sure you don’t forget the tartan too. Also, a big one of most colleges is the highly-anticipated Durham gown. Girls this is one of those rare heels opportunities… except if you’re JoBo, then stick to your walking boots.

Engagement ring

You may not be thinking about a potential hubby or wifey just yet, but keep in mind that the gooduns get snapped up fast.

A haribo one will do, but if  you want to impress bae, seal the deal, and have college kids next year, you need a ring at the ready.
