Forget Mayweather vs Pacquiao, Durham’s buffest boxers are about to go head-to-head for a black tie charity boxing match.

The brand new event, Aggression Sessions: Spar One, hopes to raise money for armed forces charity Help for Heroes by holding a swish ringside affair.

Eighteen sweaty fighters are set to battle it out in the ring in what has unofficially been called the biggest boxing event of the century.

Here are their pre-match pictures.

Event organisers, Angus Richardson, Rory Reames, Benji Marchand, Ollie Weighill, and Dougie Critchley-Johnson, told The Tab: “Aggression sessions is a student run charity boxing event born out of five second years’ passion for boxing, and inspired by the Froch-Groves titanic clash at Wembley last May.

“We are passionate about raising money for Help for Heroes and excited for what will be a truly memorable event and a seminal moment is the history of Durham’s commitment to sport and charity.

“We aim to promote the sport of boxing, raise money for a worthwhile cause and initiate an enduring legacy of Aggression Sessions in Durham.”

Natural Science fourth year Oscar Richards and ex-BUCS Champion rower is matched against Durham’s Fittest Fresher, Ben McGeoch.

Richards said: “It would be the cherry on a four-year iced malt loaf to KO Durham’s fittest fresher.

“It has been a long process, but I can now punch much harder. I was told it’s basically about how hard you can hit.”

Politics second year Cosmo Fisher has been matched against Durham minority scouser Dom Draude, and told The Tab: “Scousers have form in falling over and losing titles, Dom will be the next.”

Crucially, this boxing match could rival Durham’s notorious fashion shows in terms of pure eye candy.
