Police investigate reports of body in River Wear

Durham Constabulary are responding to reports of a body in the river Wear.

Marine units with specialist divers have entered the water.

It was first spotted by one of the divers helping with the search this morning.

The family of missing Law second year Euan Coulthard have been informed, though police are yet to confirm the identity.

The search is taking place about 200 metres upstream of Framwellgate Bridge.

Police arrived at the scene at around 9am.

The constabulary are set to issue another statement in half an hour.
