30 onlookers watching emergency services at work
Vincent LimPolice cordoned off the area around Framwellgate Bridge earlier this afternoon.
A crowd of 30 people gathered on the bridge to watch officials from the police and fire service searching the area.
Concerns have grown about the safety of the river after the disappearance of Mary’s second year Euan Coulthard last week.
The emergency services now appear to have left the scene and the bridge is open – though the footpath remains closed.
