Crossbar Challenge: Durham Hockey Club

It’s all in aid of the Zambian Cup, a Team Durham event you should buy tickets for.

In news that will embarrass footballers everywhere, Durham University Hockey Club’s Leeroy Jenkins managed to hit the bar in crossbar challenge. Watch the video here:

The challenge was held as a trial for the Hockey Club’s football team in the inaugural Zambian Cup, which sees the uni’s finest sporting talents do battle in sports they don’t usually play.

The Cup, held on Tuesday 4th June at Maiden Castle will involve the rugby, football, netball, lacrosse and men’s and women’s hockey teams.


Fixtures 

– Women’s Lacrosse vs Women’s Hockey at Netball: 12pm – 1pm
– Men’s Football vs Men’s Rugby at Hockey: 1.15pm – 2.15pm
– Women’s Hockey vs Women’s Netball at Lacrosse: 2.30pm – 3.30pm
– Men’s Hockey vs Men’s Football at Rugby: 3.45pm – 5.00pm
– Women’s Lacrosse vs Women’s Netball at Hockey: 5.15pm – 6.15pm
– Men’s Hockey vs Men’s Rugby at Football: 6.30pm – 7.30pm


He’ll be there

Tickets for the whole day are £10 and they include a night out in Durham. Proceeds go towards the Zambia Charity which Team Durham work with every year. You can read all about it here.
