Snowstorm in Academy

Severe weather warnings: snowstorms expected as Palatinalps take over Academy this Sunday

| UPDATED

This Sunday, Academy is set to be hit by a snow storm the likes of which have never been seen before as Palatinalps takes over for the night. The purple palatinalps drinks will be flowing and on the decks, Radio 1 DJ MistaJam will be spreading his tunes across the dancefloor. We’ll toast to that!

Palatinalps put in a strong performance last year and The Tab has good reason to believe tomorrow will be no different. If you were on of those who left your garments in the CCTV booth, free t-shirts will be given out to the first 1,000 students who buy a ticket. Tickets are still available and  can be bought on the door or through college reps.

Rumour has it these nutters are also offering a free pair of skis or a snowboard?! Simply share this photo here to be in with a chance!!

Palatinalps is the UK’s largest single university snowsports event, taking 1,500 students out to the alps every year from Durham University. Building on the huge success of the inaugural trip to Val d’Isere in 2011 and the infamous event that was Les Arcs 2012 this year is going to be bigger and better.

The trip this year sold out in a record time of five days, meaning that, from January 4th-12th, 1,500 snow fiends will be carving across Alpe d’Huez. There is a waiting list for anyone who has missed out.

Where: Academy

When: Sunday 4th November, 10pm

How Much: Tickets are £5, including a free limited edition Palatinalps t-shirt for
the first 1,000 sales. You’ll see them around college, the library, and the DSU throughout the week, or find their email addresses on the Palatinalps website to get hold of a ticket!
