On Friday night over 300 people camped out in Durham Cathedral to raise money for ‘Moving On Durham’, a local charity helping to break the cycle of youth homelessness in County Durham.

The night itself was a great success, with several homeless and ex-homeless men and women coming to talk about their experiences. One man actually proposed to his girlfriend on the night – a touching moment for all those present.

The heating in the Cathedral was turned off to make the night as authentic as possible for all those participating, and according to those involved it certainly was very cold… Everyone came equipped, however, and Maddy Fox, a member of the DUCK Exec, commented, “the Cathedral had never seen so many so many Onesies!”

The three buskers kept everyone entertained, while according to Maddy the Sex Patrols carried out by the Exec fortunately passed without incident!

In spite of reports of a few loud snorers, the night was a fantastic way to fundraise and raise awareness, as well as offering a unique experience to spend a night in the stunning surroundings of the Cathedral.

Thanks to Quin Murray for some fantastic photographs.
