Yes, studying is important. But so is fashion. So let Durham One help keep you in the loop by giving you the lowdown of the best fashion events for your diary, taking place in Durham and the wider world.

Consistently one of the best student fashion shows on offer, the Durham University Charity Fashion Show will be taking place from Janurary 30th to February 1st on Palace Green. With the theme this year billed as ‘Return to Glamour’, and guests asked to attend in black tie, the evening promises to be a real spectacle. Popolo cocktails, live music and dancing will be ensuring the night goes with a bang- don’t miss out.

Head down to Mildert on February 10th for their annual fashion show.

Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fashion fair– already a firm favourite with Durham’s student population- will be making a triumphant return on the 11th of February. Simply present your student card for free entry at the Prince Bishops Shopping Centre. Visit- 

Marys will be offering up their fashion show on February 12th.

From 17th – 22nd of February, London Fashion Week will be dominating the capital city. For those of you lucky enough to be at Somerset House over the course of the event, you will be treated to some of the most innovative and exciting fashion in the world. Shaping up to be one of the best on offer this year, Collingwood will be hosting their fashion show on 22nd of February.

Hild Bede (also tipped to be a must see) will be staging their fairy-tale themed fashion show on the 24th of February.

On Monday 27th of February, ‘Rags and Muffins’ will be descending on Sanctuary 21 in Durham. Vintage and high street clothing will be available at charity shop prices, along with hot drinks and cupcakes from the American Cupcake Company. Castle will be staging their annual fashion show, in the great hall itself, on the 29th of February.

If you still haven’t seen enough fashion, Hatfield will be running their fashion show on March 4th.

Finally, Gray college will be rounding up the season with their show on the 10th of March.
