Coventry University have pushed back dissertations until May

Laura WilliamsCoventry University sent out emails to students informing them that undergraduate, postgraduate and masters dissertations and projects now have an extended deadline. Projects are now due on 1st May 2020. This is to help relieve the pressure on students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Online exams will still take place on the scheduled dates including any coursework that has been set to replace formal exams.
The email states: “To help relieve the pressures many of you are feeling, and to allow our staff to join the NHS and community efforts being made to fight Covid-19, we have agreed to an automatic two week extension on all semester two coursework deadlines with immediate effect. Your new deadline will be two weeks after the original submission date and will automatically apply to all written coursework, there is no need to apply for these extensions.
“We had already given all undergraduate, postgraduate and masters dissertations and projects (including portfolio, group projects and placement assessments) a one week extension. These have been extended further, with the deadline for these now 1 May 2020”.
This comes after many students returned home to self-isolate with their families during the coronavirus outbreak. Coventry University also made the decision to suspend all face-to-face teaching in an effort to combat the spread of coronavirus.
