Earl of Mercia releases statement after customer faints

Staff that were working have been told to self isolate

The Earl of Mercia Weatherspoon’s have released a statement after a customer collapsed a few hours ago with coronavirus symptoms.

Weatherspoons told The Coventry Tab: “Customer in the pub collapsed in the bar and was taken away from the bar into a back area. He was shaking, seemed confused, had a rash and was clutching his liver. Ambulance was called. They wore hazmat suits and took the man away. Pub has been closed for a deep clean and the two staff that were dealing with the man called 111 and were told to self-isolate. There is no suggestion that it is coronavirus. Pub will reopen in due course”.

The Earl of Mercia have said they will reopen at 2pm and closed as a precaution.

This comes after coronavirus cases began to be confirmed this week in Coventry.
