Two men were taken to hospital yesterday after a shooting on Binley Road

Injuries are not thought to be life threatening


Police are currently investigating after reports of gunshots on Binley Road at the junction of Far Gosford Street just after 10:30pm last night.

The victims, aged 18 and 21 were taken to hospital with gunshots wounds that are not thought be life threatening.

It is thought that the car the two men were travelling in stopped at a set of traffic lights on Far Gosford Street when a shot was fired at them.

A full statement was shared on the Coventry Police Facebook Page.

The statement reads as follows: "Detectives are investigating a shooting in Coventry last night".

"Police were called to reports of two men in a car being shot in Binley Road at the junction Far Gosford Street just after 10:30pm".

"Two men aged 21 and 18 were taken to hospital with gunshot injuries which are not thought to be life threatening".

"It's believed that the car the two men were travelling in stopped at a set of traffic lights on Far Gosford Street, when a shot was fired at the car. An investigation is underway and detectives are appealing to anyone who has any information to get in touch".
