An old Cov hospital is being turned into halls and it’s down the road from Kasbah

I CAN WALK TO THE SESH

The old Coventry and Warwickshire hospital is currently being transformed into a new student accommodation, with construction already under way.

The abandoned building is located on Stoney Stanton road which is just round the corner from Kasbah and up the road from one of the walk-in-STI testing centres. All you could want from a student accommodation in Cov, really.

It is set to include a central courtyard and landscaping works as well as student bedrooms. The project will be completed by summer 2020 as part of a £17.1 million contract.

This comes four months after Coventry City Council approved plans for a new student accommodation just a few minutes away from campus.

The hospital has been closed for 13 years and has been empty ever since. Scaffolding has already been put up around parts of the building which will be refurbished whilst other parts will undergo alterations and extensions.

These are all that remains of the former hospital after the other parts were destroyed during the Coventry Blitz.
