Cannabis farm with over 90 plants found on Walsgrave Road after house fire

The farm was discovered by firefighters


A cannabis farm was discovered inside a Coventry house after a fire broke out on the premises this Saturday. The house was located on Walsgrave Road, a popular student area, and contained around 90 cannabis plants.

The fire took place in the early morning of Saturday 25th May when fire fighters were called to the fire. The fire fighters then informed West Midlands Police of their discovery.

Walsgrave Road is a popular student area next to Gosford Green

West Midlands police have stated: "Police were called by firefighters at 7:20am yesterday (Saturday) to a house fire on Walsgrave Road, Coventry. A cannabis factory containing around 90 plants was found inside. Each plant could produce around £1,000 worth of the drug."

The incident is the third cannabis find this month. Another farm was found in the area of Wyken near the University hospital on the 16th May and a second farm was discovered in the outskirts of the city centre earlier this month.

This investigation is currently ongoing. West Midlands Police encourage anyone with information to contact them.
