The flooding occurred at the Maurice Foss Building on Cox Street

The flooding caused many lectures and seminars inside the building cancelled until further notice.

The Coventry Tab received information from students of lecturers sending last-minute emails due to the inconvenience. A lecturer wrote in an email to students: “It seems a pipe broke above the lecture hall, literally flooding the place”.

The water pipe that caused the incident has now been shut off. Health and safety measures have been taken with notices of not to enter the lecture hall, and multiple yellow wet floor signs have been placed. The water has been maintained however the floors are soaking wet.

It is unclear when the facilities will be reopened to students.
