Shoppers in Gosford Sainsbury’s locked in as group wield knives outside

Luckily no one was harmed


Sainsbury's Local on Gosford Street locked their doors last night as a group of youths caused a disturbance outside .

One witness claimed that the individuals were wielding knives. The group had dispersed by the time police arrived, with no arrests or casualties reported.

West Midlands Police have stated: "We received a call at 7.50pm on Saturday night (6 Oct) reporting a group of teenagers and young men carrying knives and a vehicle being driven dangerously up and down Far Gosford Street.

"Police resources arrived within three minutes but there were no offenders on scene and no-one was reported as being injured."

This comes only three weeks after reports of a shooting on Far Gosford Street, where two men ended up in hospital.
