A body has been found in the River Taff

He was seen entering the river by the Principality Stadium

South Wales Police are currently working to recover a body from the River Taff in Cardiff.

According to South Wales Police’s Twitter account, they received reports that a body had been sighted in the river Taff on September 5th at approximately 6:40pm. They also said that “a multi-agency operation is underway to recover a body from the River Taff.”

Emergency services had been called to an area of the river near the Principality Stadium on August 25th after a man had been spotted entering the water. However, whilst the search began on this date, due to the severe weather from Storm Francis, it had been suspended without the man being found.

It has been reported that the body was sighted in the Grangetown area, near Cardiff Bay.

Although there has been no formal identification as of yet, the family of the man who had entered the river in August have been notified.
