Get your sunnies out: Cardiff’s Summer Ball is on its way

I can just smell the summer spirit

It's not only a brand new year, it's also a brand new decade and lucky for us Cardiff students, a brand new student-only Summer Ball is landing at Cardiff Castle.

It's the first of its kind to arrive at Cardiff and it's happening on 12th June 2020 and comes in true festival style.

Also, the world's largest bouncy castle is promised to be there?! It's apparently taller than the Great Wall of China and can hold up to 100 people at a time – it's definitely something you'd have to see to believe.

Headliners are yet to be announced but rumours are some 'very well-known' artists will be taking to the stage, including some local talent and Cardiff uni students too.

Better yet, the day festival is set to be fancy dress themed and so Cardiff can expect many, many students to be parading the streets in crazy costumes to celebrate the end of exams (for most of us anyway).

The mastermind behind the festival is none other than Cardiff Law graduate Ben Holland, ex-manager of the SU's night we all know and love, JUICE. Ben said: "When I was in my final year I was disappointed that there wasn't a summer ball for Cardiff students when there seemed to be huge events happening at other universities all over the country". Ben hopes this event will become the "most memorable event of the academic year for years to come".

What about food you say? Catering for the event will consist of street food and will have a variety of options like vegan, vegetarian and meat.

Tickets are available to buy here and The Tab Cardiff will bring you any updates on the brand-new event.
