Police say Cathays stabbing victim was known to his attackers as third man is arrested

Four people are now held in custody in relation to the murder


South Wales police have revealed they believe Fahad Mohamed Nur, who was murdered at Cathays station on Sunday, was known to his attackers.

A 21-year-old man from Cardiff was arrested in London late last night on suspicion of murder. He has been brought back to South Wales for questioning.

This follows three arrests on Wednesday, when two men were arrested on suspicion of murder and a woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. These arrests also took place in London at Heathrow airport.

They remain in custody following this further arrest.

Fahad's family have been updated and continue to be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark O’Shea, the Senior Investigating Officer said: "Three men are now in custody on suspicion of murder.

"We would very much like to thank the community for the support and information that has already been provided and would urge anyone else with information to please contact us.”
