Breaking: A man with a machete has been arrested outside the Principality Stadium

No one was hurt

Two men have been arrested outside the Principality Stadium earlier today on suspicion of threatening behaviour.

A video emerged of a man wielding a machete on social media. The video shows the man being held down and taken away by the police.

The arrest took place this afternoon on Saunders Road near the stadium, where fans have been queuing for a Justin Bieber concert tonight.

A witness told UniLad: “I was walking and I saw a security guy pull the person from the car. He was holding a machete inside the car. The security guys saw him and stopped him. They pulled him out of the car and started hitting him.”

The witness praised the actions of security and police who arrived in “about 20 seconds”.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.

South Wales Police released a statement saying: “South Wales Police were called to a dispute involving motorists on Saunders Road, Cardiff, at approximately 3.05pm.”

“Two men, aged 27 and 19, were arrested nearby on Penarth Road. The 27-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of affray and the 19-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of using threatening behaviour.

“Both are currently in custody at Cardiff Bay police station. There are no reports of any injuries.”
