The ASSL is going to be open for 24 hours a day

Fucking finally

Cardiff University’s Art and Social Sciences Library is finally going to be open 24 hours a day.

Sophie Timbers VP Education has been campaigning for the ASSL to be a 24 hour study space throughout the academic year since she released her first manifesto to become an elected officer at the students union.

It has just been confirmed that a pilot scheme to open the library for 24 hours will be trialed.

Starting on 4th January 2016 through to the end of the academic year in June 2016, our beloved ASSL will be open 24 hours a day.

The pilot scheme will see the library working alongside the university to monitor the number of students using the ASSL in the early hours of the morning.

At these times the library will be monitored by security only and so student cards will be mandatory for gaining access.
