Taly Tesco has delayed its opening hours so it can prepare for Black Friday

Set your alarm for 4.45am

Black Friday madness  has resulted in Tesco Extra pushing back its Black Friday opening hours this year.

Tesco will be unlocking its doors to bargain-hunters at 5am instead of midnight on Friday 27th November.

The supermarket on Excelsior Road says this will allow them an extra five hours to prepare the store and consequently provide a better shopping experience.

Last year police were called to the supermarket to control the crowds.

The urgency of customers desperate to find a bargain caused distress, anger, and violence between both staff and shoppers.

November 2014 queues of about 500 people began forming outside the supermarket at 6pm, in anticipation for the sale to launch.

The extra time Tesco are permitting themselves will give them the night to increase stock volumes, both in store and online, so customer demands can be met more effectively.

More security and efficient queuing systems will also be making an appearance.
