Fire alarm in Law building forces hundreds into the cold

Mayhem as law students evacuated

Chilly law students were forced to stand on the pavement outside the LawPI building after a fire alarm went off this morning.

Hundreds of eager students were chucked out of their lectures and seminars just before 10am.

The crowd gathered in the freezing conditions outside the newly renamed building on Park Place.

An onlooker told The Tab: “The crowds were huddled together like a penguin colony on park place.”

But despite the cold conditions, students reacted well to the evacuation.

The nearby student said: “Everyone was very well mannered and civil. It was a well organised and managed evacuation, if not the exemplar for all future evacuations.”
