Dusk ‘Til Disappointment?

It’s rumoured ball organisers turned down band Bastille to perform in event line up balls up.

Cardiff University’s annual end of year ball has just been and gone and with a ticket this year costing £20, topping the price of the previous two years, did we get enough for our money?

A source inside the union has told us that bigger and better things had been lined up for this year’s Dusk ‘Til Dawn Ball but due to decisions being placed in the wrong hands and a new events organisation team, the line up left little to be desired for.

No risk of overcrowding…

According to our source a decision was made to go against having the band Bastille, a previous union headliner and sell out gig, in favour of a variety of smaller name acts. This included Misha B of X Factor fame, supposedly chosen at the organisers personal preference and who failed to fill solus on the night.

Looking a little lonely there girls

We at The Tab are not strictly pointing any fingers at anyone and the ball was still a pretty radical overhaul of the union creating a memorable experience. However, perhaps in future decisions like this should be put to the students, especially as ticket sales were famously slow this year with late line up announcements not helping to shift the lot.

Something’s not right when you can move in Solus

Word on the street is of discontent, undoubtedly following previous disappointment over ticket shortages for the Varsity After Party which left many students out in the cold.

Got enough room to dance?

Union please sort it out and bring back your old, crowd pleasing events – love The Tab.
