EXCLUSIVE: Mungo’s Hi Fi to headline Strawberries & Creem

The summer is looking promising

The Tab can exclusively reveal that later today Mungo’s Hi Fi will be announced as the second headliner for the Cambridge festival.

What an absolute treat. First, we brought you the news that Skepta, will be performing in Cambridge this summer at Strawberries & Creem festival, and now Mungo’s Hi Fi. As only two of their six headline acts, it looks like June is going to be a good month for music in Cambridge.

Mungo’s Hi Fi are a Scottish reggae and dub sound system – words that on paper perhaps don’t go together, but on stage work perfectly. Mungo’s Hi Fi is based on the Jamaican sound system tradition, playing what they refer to as “forward thinking reggae”.

Championed on Radio 1 by the late John Peel, Mungo’s Hi Fi went on to take the festival world by storm; even hosting their own stage at Outlook and performing at Glastonbury. Between now and June they are booked across the UK and Europe before touching down on our doorstep.

The news should officially be released by S&C later today on their Facebook page and website.

Given that this is just the second of six headliners, you might want to grab a ticket before they disappear. If you love music, you won’t want to miss this.
