Fitzwilliam announce Winter Ball headliner

If the glove fitz…

Fitz May Ball Narnia

The keen beans on the Fitzwilliam Winter Ball committee have announced the headliner for their 2014 Winter Ball even before the start of term!

The Hoosiers will be headlining their ‘Saturnalia’ themed ball. You may remember these four cheeky chappies from the noughties. They gave us such infectious pop tunes as Goodbye Mr A, Cops and Robbers and Worried About Ray.

Speaking exclusively to The Tab, the Ents team commented, “Having the Hoosiers on board as our headliner is an excellent way for Fitz to show that we’re raising our ball game (pun intended) and that this year’s Saturnalia-themed ball will be more than enough to whet your appetite for a black-tie frolic as come December May Week seems but a distant dream.”

Past performers include Cambridge favourites Truly Medley Deeply and Denim.

This decision to bring in a professional band is reflected in the rise in ticket prices although the evening still remains much cheaper than a May Ball.

It’s safe to say that the college is planning a higher quality ball than we have seen to date. Previous themes include ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Narnia’.

Will this year’s ball live up to the hype? The committee this year have certainly left no holds barred on the publicity front. This is no mean feat since a winter ball is hard to advertise in the summer.

You’ve got one chance every two years to catch The Fitzwilliam Winter Ball and this one looks set to be their best yet…
