Wills and Kate, aka. Their Royal Highnesses will be visiting city from where they take their title on 28 November, according to a statement released by Clarence house.

The Mayor of Cambridge, Councillor Sheila Stuart, will greet the national treasures at the Guildhall in the city centre. Royalists are in for a treat, as they intend to make an appearance on the balcony of the building, which overlooks market square.

The Royal Couple

Cllr Stuart told press “It will be a joy to welcome them to our city and I do hope that they enjoy the time they spend with us.

“Their planned Guildhall balcony appearance will, I am sure, attract huge crowds in the market square, and I know the Royal couple will be assured of a great Cambridge welcome.”

They will then walk, no doubt accompanied by security and staff, to the University-owned Senate House to attend a reception for about 400 people.

Also on their itinerary is a visit to Jimmy’s Night Shelter for the homeless in East Road and The Manor School in Arbury Road, where they will watch a drama, music and dance presentation.

Some students are more excited by the news than others. Ben Levy, a third year lawyer and zealous royalist, told The Tab: “I am delighted at the prospect of their visit – I’ve dusted down my wide angle lens and reserved a spot on the roof of the Grafton Centre in anticipation, all paid for by French Closer”.
