Ladies and gentlefolk (and you too, I guess) – I don’t wear black tie for nothing so here goes.
I auger an inauguration – the first Theatre Guide Dog Awards are upon us. Sit down, clap when I tell you, get your voting fingers ready and everyone goes home happy. Aren’t I a charming host?
CLICK HERE TO SKIP TO THE VOTING IF YOU HATE READING
We have two types of award up for grabs for the creamiest cream milked from Lent 2011, and here they are:
Voted by a panel of 12 élite Tab reviewers – the same kind souls who shape your opinion of Cambridge Theatre week by week. None of this AV nonsense: one show, one vote, one winner in all the categories you could wish for.
Voted by you, our dubiously-qualified readership. For better or for worse, the bigshot awards are in your hands, including the soon-to-be-much-coveted Top of the Tab award for best overall show. Voting is open between now and Monday 4th April, so make sure you take the chance to voice your opinion through a medium other than the disgruntled and needlessly savage comment.
So now you understand what you’re dealing with, here are the shortlists. Click on the titles to be whisked away to the relevant review. Relive the successes and flaws of [insert production here] and maybe even see some pictures. In the case of the prigs, all you can do is imagine which show you might choose if only you were a Tab reviewer, but pay special attention when the Platinum Tabs come along, because you get to decide who wins in this very article. I’m trusting you, so don’t screw it up.
