Pete Doherty faces police questioning this week after new evidence emerged over the death of a man at a party in 2006.

Cantab Mark Blanco, 30, who graduated from Trinity College in 1998 and was working as an actor, fell from a balcony at the Whitechapel party in December 2006.

Blanco’s mother, Sheila, said: "Pete Doherty was pivotal at the party, he was one of six there."

After watching CCTV which shows a man, thought to be Doherty, stepping over Mr.Blanco’s dead body before running from the scene, Sheila commented,

"He didn’t stop to see whether he could help, or even check how bad Mark’s injuries were… it’s just callous and inhumane. It made me feel sick to see it.”

Despite coroner and family pleas for police to re-investigate the death, no one was ever charged.

Recently however, one of Doherty’s bodyguards is said to have told a friend of Blanco he knew something about the incident.

A police spokesman said: "All new evidence will be investigated fully."

Doherty, singer and songwriter in the band Babyshambles, has created headlines for his party antics and alleged addiction to drugs, as well as his famous relationship with Kate Moss.

This story comes mere days after Doherty was fined $1200 for bringing heroin into a courtroom in LA, amongst further concern for Doherty’s mental state.
