“One case of coronavirus has now been diagnosed at Oxford Brookes and our campuses remain open as usual”.

Brookes have set up a new email address to respond to all questions regarding the virus. Students can contact [email protected] if they have any concerns. The university also ask that Brookes students email this address if they are self-isolating so that the university can keep track of this too.

In their alert they have reiterated government advice from the 12th March: “you should stay at home for seven days if you have either a high temperature or a new continuous cough. This will help to protect others in your community while you are infectious. Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. You do not need to contact NHS111 to tell them you’re staying at home. The NHS will not be testing people who are self-isolating with mild symptoms.”

“We are carefully monitoring the situation, sharing the latest guidance from Public Health England PHE) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), and will issue any further advice and guidance as it becomes available.”
